Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Steffen Kuehn’s newest project is centered around and focused on drummers he has worked/recorded with or has a personal connection with.

The first 3 tracks from the upcoming album feature world-renowned and acclaimed drummers Antonio Sanchez, David Garibaldi, and Ari Hoenig.

All music is composed, arranged, and produced by Kuehn. One can hear the thought that went into writing the fitting music for each drummer’s unique style of playing.

Kuehn says, ‘Once I started focusing on a particular drummer, the music sort of started writing itself and the selection of the remaining musicians for that particular track fell into place very organically.’

Sidemen include Snarky Puppy’s  Michael League, SNL and Herbie Hancock’s bassist James Genus, Grammy Award-winning Pianist Taylor Eigsti and pianist Sullivan Fortner, vocalist JD Walter, Tower of Power Keyboardist Roger Smith, Doobie Brothers Saxophonist Mark Russo, Bassist Stefan Polzer, and guitarist Ray Obiedo.

Even though the music and compositions differ in styles quite a bit, the common thread is Kuehn’s writing, playing, and production skills that tie these tracks together.
